The mix of tones here is wonderfully effective. I like the quirkiness, the humor of it, especially mixed with the sense of loss and sentimentality. Your humor here, I think, really works to magnify the effect of the clear sadness of the piece. And I love the kind of throw-away of the ending line, how pointed it is in being so irrelevant.

It's a conversation in isolation, a monologue almost intended for someone else--and everything here is so wonderfully invested in that strange balance between the said and unsaid. Nice nice nice.
