Commissions on deviantARTThe deviantART community is full of talented artists and art appreciators willing to pay for custom artwork. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re launching Commissions on deviantART to all Beta Testers, a feature that connects artists with clients, creating custom artwork in exchange for real earnings.
Commissions is a Profile Page widget that allows artists to market their talents by advertising what they are available to create. Potential clients can easily send artists a Commission request, which an artist can either accept or reject.
Profits made through the Commissions widget can be withdrawn as real earnings -- through check, PayPal, or converted to deviantART Points.

Text Brush in deviantART muroWe just launched a new tool to Beta Testers that allows you to paint words onto your canvas in deviantART muro!
The text brush lets you create visual art using words. You can change the text and font from the bottom bar, and you can also set whether or not the text repeats itself continuously. When you click the font button, you'll be prompted with a modal that contains an extensive list of fonts to choose from! The sample text will update based on the font you select, so you can get a sense of what you'll be painting before you paint it.

As an example of the great things you can create with this tool, you can check out $mudimba's I Have A Dream, or watch a redraw of $mudimba at work creating art!

We've launched our new Commissions widget to everyone, enabling artists to generate real earnings through custom creations. Artists can list their commission availability through the widget on their profile, clients can then request commissions from them, and once the artist accepts, they receive payment which then shows up as profit on their My Earnings page.

In October, we launched the new mobile site to everyone, and while we stand by its design and functionality, we received valid statements regarding older devices not being compatible with the new layout. With this in mind, we've brought back the old mobile site for older devices, with the option to switch to one or the other depending on your preference.

Group Journal Editing in Sta.sh Writer

Hi everyone!

Today we're bringing you a feature that makes it easier for members to collaborate using Group Journals. Admins who have Journal editing privileges can now edit Sta.sh Journals posted by others. The feature makes it easier to edit, maintain and collaborate within your Group.

An "Edit with Sta.sh Writer" button is now available on Sta.sh Journals in Groups where you have editing privileges.

Previously, this functionality partially existed using the original Journal editor, but the Edit button was only available when browsing through that Group's Journals using the Journals tab. This method still exists for Journals created using the original Journal editor; however, Group Journals posted from Sta.sh Writer will now open in Sta.sh Writer when using this method.

Try it out!

This new tool has been made available to all Beta Testers, so for all of you who admin a Group, feel free to give it a spin! If you come across any problems, let us know by filing a ticket in the Issue Tracker under the Group Journal Edit project.

Please note: if a Journal is posted to more than one group, then only the original author can edit it. In addition, using Group skins is not currently possible. These are known limitations at this time, and do not need to be reported. Thank you.

All my admin groups I either don't write journals or I am the only one who writes journals, so this doesn't really affect me, but I can see that this would help a lot of people. Nice work!

I Have A Suggestion: I would love a multiple pieces of art-work submission button or submitt your collection button. I tend to be all thumbs in trying to submit more than one photo of the same theme or various views of the moon lets say that were shot consecutively. Just a Thought.
