Honestly, I never run outta ideas. I'm just too caught up in anime and videogames to sit down and put them all on paper. Lol. I do, however, leave several notes and recordings behind so that I don't' forget the ideas I come up with.

I've been having issues with Deviant Art for over a week now.

Specially with Sta.sh - I can't upload any images to it unless I send them there via the email. Everytime I try to upload something, I get an Unknown Error that occurs and it just never works. I've tried using both Chrome and Firefox and it's still occurring.

There's been a lot of lag and slow loading times as well and I know it's not my internet as I'm wired in using T1 or better (don't know specifics off hand but I know it doesn't suck in the slightest lol). I don't know if it was the recent update that started this or what :/

Sta.sh really needs to be looked at though...

Oh yeah that one. When I get a creativity block it is usually after I feel tired for any reason.  Some days I can come out of it and create something original or close to original Some days are much harder than others to think of fresh ideas.   It gets extemely frustrating on days when I find that every good idea I have well seems good to myself has already been thought of.  Those are the days when it is next to impossible to get unstuck.  But on the easy days when I have a block.  Randomly sketching images on paper or on my tablet helps give me a head start.  Listening to music before I create inspires and energizes me.  And I don't mean listening to the radio or music that first comes to mind or the top 40 countdown.   When I want to get ideas I listen to movie and animated film soundtracks.   If I want to create something both sci-Fi and full of action, I pop in Transformers the movie 1986 music score, instrumental score only.  If I want something more in the early twentieth century with a touch of film noir.  I listen to the music score to Batman (1989). If I want to make something epic or battle themed I listen to fantasy videogame soundtracks and sometimes music from Call of duty.  If I want to create something horrific, terrorfiying or apopltilyptic I listen to "Requim For A Dream." But doesn't always work.  Sometimes I get insperation from events that happen to me directly in my own life.   It's about time we get a discussion topic like this one.  Nice job.   All artist can relate to this topic.

.......I dunno. When lacking inspiration I take a break and look at nature around me. I can't force myself to think because the painting/story will be choppy or lack emotion instead of natural.

Hmmm... Inspiration... I think mine's always there, and it always revolves around the same things. What I lack is motivation, I think. I already have enough inspiration to do stuff for the next decade. But lacking the motivation to actually make it happen, the inspiration accumulates and amounts to nothing :P

But I understand what people generally mean by inspiration. I sometimes need to get inspired to face a specific project at a specific moment, and watching movies, listening to music, playing videogames or simply taking a walk really help.

I can't just pull ideas out of thin air, but for my stories I will often turn to prompts and contests for my short story ideas or I will get an idea but I usually lack the time to write the story. Time is usually my problem when it comes to lack of writing also things like school because after writing essays and reports and such I lose the urge to write for that day. However for most of my poems they're easier to make and take less time because I tend to go off of emotion a lot.

Luckily, many ideas for new drawings are coming to my mind lately.
Sometimes it happens to me to think of more than a concept; to not forget everything soon, I keep a notebook where I quickly sketch my idea (and sometimes I add a little description of its meaning and even some possible titles); then, when I have time, I come back to these sketches and turn them into proper drawings :)
This is a good way for me to fully use my most creative moments. When I work in this way I never get art blocks :)

At times I have to push myself... or I do other, not-perhaps-so-creative things, like cleaning the house.. :B To get inspired (or to recharge my inspiration), I take walks in nature, read literature (fiction, poetry, even non-fiction can be inspirational), listen to music, dance, play videogames, watch TV/movies, discuss ideas with friends... if I don't feel like writing, I may draw or crochet... =P But like someone before me implied, inspiration tends to come at "the worst" possible times, like when I'm supposed to be sleeping... or studying, or working. :stare::lol:

I have to push myself to find ispiration most of the time...
My solution is to search for prompts (coming from challenges, or contests, or else) that I like... I really enjoy having a brief to follow rather than starting from nowhere ^^

I just wonder around the Internet looking for some thing to do, after I don't find any thing interesting, I look at random pictures, then usually find some thing to write about, or just take a quick peek at some one else's shared ideas.

Setting up a music bank or playlist they conveys a particular mood is a good way to get me motivated and stay on the same track.

Otherwise watching speed paints or having a look at images I would aspire to one day as well in is also motivational!

On rare occasions a good movie with themes I like painting or drawing also helps :)

Some times I really do need to push myself to be inspired, but I do have periods of constant inspiration. I LOVE those moments, but they get so far and few between sometimes. :noes: If I feel I'm lacking inspiration, I will push and push and push. I will FORCE myself to create something. Anything. Even doing a quick sketch can sometimes help me get the juices flowing again.

Hey guys. I have just a minor suggest for the aesthetics of Deviantart, and that would be to make the green title bar at the top with all the widgets a solid colour of green, preferably something on the lines of...

R: 134
G: 183
B: 123

And that it moves down the page as you scroll down, although now that I think of it, that might get in the way of the view experience of art... So, maybe you guys could make it an activate-able and de-activate-able feature.

That's just my input, I'd really like to see it in action though!

I am inspired whenever I need to do very important things like study... Or during exams. Or when it's very late at night. Inspiration most of the time come to me when I can't create anything. Then when I want to create anything, I won't be inspired. Inspiration comes in an inappropriate schedule for me.

When I lack inspiration, I usually just browse the internet, books, comics and/or magazines. Then whazzam! Or I just meed to close my eyes or take a bath... Taking a bath for hours gives me ideas.

The creation born of inspiration and inspiration is born of creation, the more you create, the more you are inspired! Exercising with a new theme each week is a great exercise to keep awake inspiration.
The images are words and words are images and inspiration is always waiting for you, and only time will require you to create less.

On my group TheFavouriteShowcase, the widgets appear the same on all pages of the different galleries, it's very annoying and this is been like that for months now.

TheFavouriteShowcase is a Super Group, it's payed, so I'd like to have it as it was, each gallery with its own info.

I'm quite positive a few others have mentioned it recently, but I'd also like to add a note on the lag issue some of us (if not most) have been experiencing.

I can barely hold join.me's or anything of the sort anymore because of the lag issue. Earlier this week, I tried to do a join.me and updated my Journal, but it didn't appear in my watchers' inboxes until an hour and a half later. By then, I was pretty much done for the join.me, and it was extremely disappointing to both me and my watchers. This has happened every time I've held a join.me these past two weeks - usually differing between an hour to 45 minutes for the Journal to finally show up in everyones' inboxes.

I'm not sure what's going on, and I don't see a report on it yet, but I really hope it gets fixed soon. It really is driving my friends and I nuts, and I can only imagine the affect it's having on people who are on strict time limits for events and so forth.

So there seems to be a delay with my Group messages, and ONLY my Group messages; lately whenever I submit, say, a deviation to the favorites gallery it takes a bit to show up in my message center.
Also -- I know that my group messages (as a founder of a group) are in a different folder and everything, but I'm rarely ever notified of these messages in the drop-down menu, -the only time I'm ever notified in that menu is if a deviation is submitted and needs to be approved, not if a member joins or anything like that- so I have to manually check the folder...which I don't mind, but it seems to me that I would be notified of both deviation submissions and feedback messages (such as members joining,etc.)...? Basically, I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's just commonplace and I'm being stupid. ^^;

Why is it that nobody among the Admin is talking about the massive dA bug that is causing a failure to submit media content to all watchers for over a month now? For instance I watch this blog on both my new and old profiles, but only one received your last blog, this profile seems to frequently miss them. And its not just you, everyone is experiencing this delay in submissions or permanent absence of any watcher notification. People are vocally saying they noticed a drop off in their page activity, meaning the messages are not only delayed, some are not arriving at all. And yet the admin are silent, even help desk offers no informative answer. Can anyone say whats going on?

In answer to your question, yes and yes.  As a photographer, even when carrying the camera, sometimes I'm not interested in taking pictures.  For me, solitude and quiet make a big difference, even if it is the interior solitude and quiet I create in the midst of the commotion.  Slow down, pay attention, breathe.

It would appear that message delays are a really big issue with the community, and have been for some time. MY question would be this: What's so wrong that it's taking so long to rectify it? Perhaps an answer to that would help stop this flood of the same types of messages over and over, on every new update blog. They may not understand your answer, but at least you will have tried. :)

As noticed in one of the comments, it would e a great idea to have a fully block option like Youtube has. For example, if you block someone, you no longer see their deviations in any group stacks that you have. Their comments on other people's pages and deviations will automatically not be seen by the person who blocked them. The same would go for the one who's blocked. To them, it would seem like the person never existed and the only way around that would be to make an alt account or log out of dA to see the page.

Also, someone sort of mentioned this: The Groups message system. I submit forum threads, blogs, and announcements, and it can take hours for it to appear in my message center. I can only assume it's doing that for all members of those groups, as well. Some of those things are time sensitive, so, that delay really hurts what's going on. :)

I have no problem with inspiration. I try, and generally succeed, in keeping my mind open to the entire world, instead of my normal comfort zones. Inspiration is everywhere, if you're open to seeing it, and letting it in. I've never had a moment of writer's block in my life, and I don't expect to. :) One thing I tell anyone is this: Create what you FEEL, and, as a rule, you won't go wrong. :)

I go  through phases of having lots of ideas or, none at all. I find inspiration from a variety of different things.
Someones words/gestures, other artworks, music etc .

My most  exciting ideas are usually born when I am laid in bed drifting to sleep and my my wonders and thinks all sorts of strange and wonderful sonarios
