I think this just may be a problem for me, but when I draw with deviantART muro it says I'm not logged in, and it won't erase anything.

The friend list and options are fine as they are, but the alphabetical order don't work (for me at least).
I made several list to group people I watch into different categories according to their preferences (for example, a group for Zelda fans, another for One Piece fans, etc.) / what they draw most, and I uncheck the "friend" label when I watch people I don't have a deep relationship with on a personal or professional level.

Not sure if this is a result of the update, or just a new bug. The newest deviantion widget does not display newly uploaded deviations >.<

I just suppose that it could be related to the data updating.

Also I have an uploading category idea.

You should let us upload mp4 files, because if people like me don't have flash or cant convert things to gifs, they can leave it as is so they don't have to worry about all of that trouble.

I actually have a suggestion that SHOULD be added because it would be EXTREMELY helpful for people like me who own groups.
There should be a Setting in the Group Settings page that let's you chose to let people automatically join the group.

HOWEVER, it should ALSO give you the options of which class they are automatically allowed to join, so people cant automatically become a co-founder or contributer, and only members, to avoid people screwing up the group.

I hope you understand what I mean by these.

I'm fairly certain this is already implemented...at least, I have my group set up so people can join and don't need approval, and it's only members that can join.

I've never used the sorting or grouping feature for Deviantwatches I just click watch and that's about it. If they're people I want to follow but not necessarily their art, or if its a group that gets a lot of submissions I uncheck the art and go "manually" check out art from them every once in a while.

I think if you're going to do a grouping thing it needs to be more extensive where you can group where people's deviations go in your in box and being able to toggle on and off groups. A good example is me actually. I'm a prominent member of the Lego community here, but I also really enjoy other kinds of art. It'd be nice if when I wanna view deviations from only the CSS and DAr people I can toggle off the other groups or click on that created grouping from my message board, and then only people who are in that grouping's deviations and journals show up. This would work like favorites or deviations folders, but with Deviants themselves and their content. Then I could see having some kind of grouping system in place. Otherwise it seems pretty stupid and pointless. What does it actually change or effect, if anything?

I think Friends is useless for most Deviants. Unless you're a one with a lot of connections, it's not a useful section of the Watch checklist.

But for me, I used to use it to single out my favorite artists. Nowadays, however, many of them aren't as active as they used to be, so there's no point. (Also since I have like…1 or 2 friends on dA.)

So..yeah. I don't use/check off friends anymore.

When are you people going to fix the upload situation?   I have a premium subscription and I can't upload a thing, not even to sta.sh and not even small files!!!  It took me all afternoon yesterday just to upload a couple of items and now it doesn't work at all.  I have also found I'm not alone.  Some of my friends say the helpdesk is completely ignoring them.  I am not a happy camper to say the least!!!  I didn't even see this issue on the statis forum.  My money is buying me very little at the moment.  Really bad way to do business DA.

I have tried downloading in submissions and in sta.sh.  It starts to load and somewhere between 30% and 70% it stops loading and then I get an error message: Error uploading file: Unknown error.  At first I thought it was just because it was Sunday, which is busy.  However, no matter what time of day I try I get the same problem and it's been going on for at least 4 days.

I am not alone in this.  I know at least five or six people that are having the same problem.  I have a friend who had not been able to upload in over a week as of Sunday.  I have never encountered this problem with my new computer.  I have loads of memory and a fast Internet connection.  I use Google Chrome and I have no problem with things timing out at any other site.  I also have the same problem if I use my laptop, so it's not this computer.  I am more than frustrated at this point.  I managed to get a few really small image files to upload into sta.sh, but not any art of any consequence.

Check please if it shows something in the Console window while displaying the error message (F12 in Chrome).
As for your friends - do they have something common? From technical point of view, like the same provider or something.

Um, just a very random suggestion here X'D...
But has anyone considered being able to comment to the left or right side of a deviation rather than below? o3o

I realize such a change would get very confusing and maybe annoying to older users on here, of course ;u; and the commenting system is very good as is!!

I, personally, just find it better to look at the artwork WHILE commenting I guess XD (similar to Facebook really, when you click on an image)~

I would love it if we had a friend list and then a separate people I watch" list. I watch people who aren't my friends and then it's a hassle to find them again unless I get a watch message from them.

How about you....Oh I don't know? Give llama badges any actual value? Just, something worth anything?

I know you can give them for points, but that's it. Other than that, Llama badges aren't useful in any way. Except if you like seeing them in your collection.

Also, It's pretty sad when dAhub, the points machine gave them a use faster then you did. I'm not saying that use would be smart for the DA Staff, but it's something!

I've got another suggestion I didn't think to include in my previous comment regarding submitting to groups. Please consider implementing this because it would make things so much easier.

I don't know what deviations I've submitted to which group without going to the deviation pages to check which is a right hassle and takes too much time, submitting to groups should be quick and easy. When submitting artwork to a group from the group's page and the box that contains your gallery pops up to select submissions, I want to see indicators of some description highlighting the deviations I've already submitted to the group so that I know it's already featured in the group gallery and not to submit it again. Accepted submissions could have a green border around the thumbnail and ones awaiting approval could have a yellow border or some similar system.

There is something I'd like to bring up. please explain what's happening it's driving me mad>_< The front page has your page views number of submissions and comments correct? I'm not sure if anyone else has a problem or just me, When I submit something it shows I've submitted one too many. Like if I've submitted 1 picture it shows up as 2, the drop down menu shows the same thing but when I go into more stats it shows correctly, is this a glitch:( could you maybe look into this and get it fixed if it is a bug please:)

I think that if someone can't remember thier password or someone changed it for them without thier permission that incase the user can't check thier email (say due to only having access to the internet through devices that won't host the site said person has thier email that they need to check to get back to thier original DA account) maybe make it an option to have a question or questions that verify identity when trying to log in. seriously, my computer is still in a box in my basement somewhere, there's LOTS of boxes in my basement and the stupid packers were in too much of a hurry to label anything!

Far to complicated site by far. I'm sure it could be less complicated and more easily navigated etc. this is 1983 for Pete's sake!!!

I uncheck the friends label unless they are someone I actually know in real life.  Rarely, I may go back and put it on to someone I had become friends with on dA.  But generally, I forget.  I keep a wall of icons on my profile page, though I am thinking to change it.  I never really liked the friends widget and now that we can skin a lit file to put there, I may do that instead.  As for my lists.  I have two.  'Friends' and 'My Love', which contains one person.  I only made that list to be silly.  I had thought of making more in depth lists, but I watch so many people it would be kind of tedious.  Also, there is no real purpose to the lists for me, since I don't really go through my watch list very often or anything.

I have occasionally gone through it to find a particular artist I couldn't quite remember their name.  Not sure organizing would have helped with that. Or even how I would sort them.  As many people are varied artists and cannot be slumped in a list of watercolorists or photographers, etc.

Usually when I watch someone, I uncheck the "friend" label unless I know them in real life…which, considering how few people I interact with regularly here on dA, is most of my list of watchers and/or watched.

I only mark a Deviant as a friend if I consider them to be an actual friend. If I just Watch them for their work and don't really have a relationship with them, I leave the box unchecked.

I use the custom box on my profile to identify the deviants I want to highlight. I don't really know what the purpose of the friend designation is other than when displaying them. Isn`t there some special advantage when two members are on each other's friends lists?

I'm afraid I don't sort my actual "friends" into lists because it's harder that way. I don't click "friend" unless I'm really friends with them. Not really offline, just actual friends, even if I've never met them face to face.

I'd love to see the "friends list" (which collects the list of everyone I watch even if they're not my selected "friend") have the option to mark my friends in a rating from 1 to 10; "1" being the highest/best. At this, those who are ranked "1" would have all their messages to me appear at the top of my message stack in my inbox, where all my "rank 6" friend's messages would come in after "rank 1" no matter what time the messages were posted.

Course, it would be better if there was the option to make all messages in chronological order with the click of a button, or go from chronological to "rank" order---but if we can simply rank our friends, I'd be happy enough with that for a while. :)

I don't expect this to actually happen, it's just a suggestion from one person. ;)

Right now I have my "friends list" divided into a few groups, one of which is for groups alone. I don't know why they're in the "friend" list, but it does tend to get in the way, so I have a list just for them.

About the discussion topic, I can tell, that my friend list is rather chaotic.
I watched/unwatched people in the last 4 years and first I tried to organize them by creating lists for friends, for fandoms etc. as I wanted to sort them... but I stopped because it was too complicated to do it in the "manage friends" area.
Then groups came and I tried to create a list for those accounts too, but still the same problem was there too.
Sometimes I remembered to change the default settings on their profile when I watched them... but reorganizing is still slow...
So basically I have half organized friend lists, and I don't think that I actually want to see it displayed in any ways until I can't really organize it ^^;

Sorry if I'm confusing. I'm trying to say, that it would be useful if first there would be an easy and fast way to organize and reorganize the friend lists, until that any kind of displaying questions make sense only to those who were patient enough to organize their contacts one by one.
But this is only my opinion... and maybe I'm wrong.
