What's New
Change to Literature Preview Images
Preview images for literature deviations are now placed within a scrolling literature thumb. In the past, any preview image a deviant set would take the place of the scrolling literature thumb, making it difficult to distinguish visual art thumbnails and literature thumbnails.
This change allows for a more uniform thumbnail appearance around the site while also ensuring that each artist is still able to comfortably represent their work.

Updates to the New Submit Page, Journal ThumbnailsUpdates to the New Submit Art Page (Available to some Beta Testers)
Please note: The new Submit Art page is being A/B tested -- meaning that we're comparing the effectiveness of two different versions of the feature. If you're a Beta Tester, there's a 50% chance you'll either see the new or old version of the Submit Art page. This is expected behavior and there's no way to switch between the two groups.
Integration of Prints Submission
The Prints submission menu has been incorporated into the Submit page! This change makes for a complete integration of the submission process, allowing you to upload, submit, and sell your art, all in one process, all from one page.

Remember These Settings
A checkbox has been added to the bottom of the Submit page that, when selected, will retain the settings you use for your submission, and then apply them to the next file you sub

Today we're bringing you some major changes for Film & Animation deviations, and also some new tools for deviantART muro and Sta.sh Writer!
Film Improvements
Film submission through Sta.sh
The first major change for Film is that Sta.sh is now properly equipped to support film submissions! While it was sort of possible in the past, Sta.sh can now store and submit film files the same way other filetypes can be stored and submitted.
Keep in mind that you have to have film submission privileges in order to submit films to deviantART. For more information on this, please read this FAQ: :faq842:
Film Deviation Page Changes
The second change is regarding the layout of film deviations. The old film layout was designed with an older version of deviantART in mind, and this change places Film submissions back up to speed with the rest of the site. The Film deviation page has been updated to

Seniority Announcements - January 2013

This article marks the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 1000 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.

Help distribute cards for the Holiday Card Project

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the truly amazing and inspiring response we've received for the Holiday Card Project! The cards continue to arrive at deviantART headquarters in a steady stream, day after day. We've received over 2,000 cards, and have already started distributing them to hospitals around the world.

Commissions on deviantART (Beta Testers)

The deviantART community is full of talented artists and art appreciators looking to commission custom artwork. We’re excited to announce that we’re launching Commissions on deviantART to all Beta Testers, a feature that connects artists with clients, creating custom artwork in exchange for real earnings.

Please note: Currently, the Commissions widget can only be installed by Beta Testers, but everyone has the ability to request a Commission from Beta Testers during this testing period.

The "More" links on the right side of a Group's Gallery did not always display properly. Fixed by $shahyarg
Blackberry's BB10 browser was not identified as a modern browser by the new mobile site. Fixed by $shadowhand

Deviants who were logged into deviantART but hadn't visited Sta.sh in a while were told that they needed to log in. Fixed by $mudimba

Sta.sh / New Submit

In Sta.sh, very wide deviations weren't fully visible when fully zoomed. Fixed by $adahacker
Clicking on the Beautiful Creatures Light or Dark Contest submission link did not automatically populate the category properly for the new Submit page. Fixed by $adahacker
It was impossible to submit to Scraps when trying to submit exclusively to a Group. Fixed by $kouiskas
Clicking "Submit" wouldn't always trigger a submission attempt, if done while auto-saving. Fixed by $adahacker
For some deviation types, editing a deviation wouldn't give the creator the option to notify their watchers. Fixed by $adahacker

Sta.sh Writer

For Sta.sh comments, switching between comment boxes would cause glitches. Fixed by $inazar
Sta.sh Writer's sidebar did not let deviants use their Groups' journal skins. Fixed by $Alisey
Including literature deviations in Sta.sh comments did not work if the original deviation had Sharing disabled. Fixed by $Alisey
Blockquotes did not end after hitting enter. Fixed by $Alisey

The only truly valid issue that others have not said as far as I can tell...it would be great to see less strict rules governing where widgets go. It would be awesome iff more things could fit in the personal section or it would be awesome to add a custom widget to it as well, that kind of thing.

Why would it matter, it's a lot like being blocked, once done there's nothing you can do about it. Once banned or deactivated you cant contact them or they you, or see their profie. Basically you're too late to do anything about it, so knowing is strictly informative and after the fact. So finding out two seconds past or two years past renders the same verdict.
