In our continuous effort to improve the deviantART experience, we're publishing weekly Site Updates to keep members informed and to gather feedback. Below is a list of recent changes to the site, bug fixes, and feedback that was brought up by members in the last Site Update.

What's New

Google Analytics For Your Profile (New Premium Feature)

Premium Members can now use Google Analytics to get meaningful insight about the traffic to their deviantART Profile! Using our new Google Analytics integration, you can access comprehensive statistics about your audience, traffic, and art.

Here's just a sample of some of the stats you can see:
  • Traffic charts, graphs, and statistics by date
  • Traffic demographics (geographic locations, languages...)
  • Visitor stats (new visitors, returning visitors, time spent on pages, number of pages viewed, bounce rates...)
  • Top sites and social networks sending you traffic and, for some social networks, the individual posts that are linking to your content
  • Search engine keywords people are using to find your Profile Page and content

Improve your artistic reach with the help of Google Analytics!

Your Feedback

Thank you for the feedback left on last week's Site Update! Here's some of what you had to say.
  • There was confusion among some commenters regarding what browsers we offer support for, in the wake of last week's announcement. We still offer support for more recent versions of Internet Explorer, we have only stopped offering support for Internet Explorer 8. For a full list of browsers supported by deviantART, please read FAQ #38: Which browsers and Mobile OS are supported by deviantART?
  • In response to the Discuss topic, deviants mentioned finding inspiration on deviantART through a variety of ways. Some mentioned browsing through specific galleries or communities that create work that interests them, while others mentioned finding tutorials to help them challenge their own abilities as artists.
  • Outside of deviantART, deviants said that music and television contribute heavily to their inspiration.

there should be an option to delete a critique you received, or at least to hide it from public display. it's one thing to receive a critique, but it's another to have it rubbed into everyone's eyes

Wow, google analytics! How fasicnating! Can't imagine a life without! *o* //sarcasm intended.

How about actually improving to group submissions feature? Atleast make it easy to tell which groups allow non-members to submit work into their gallery without having to visit their page.

i already tried it out when i was a beta tester, i have to admit the way it worked was confusing, the interface was confusing, and over all i didn't get much out of it so i don't use it. i mean i literally don't know where to go and what to see and what to understand from what i see D:

i would understand if i would spend a lot of time figuring it out, but frankly, i don't have that time.

if only there was a way to make things simpler, i really love looking at statistics, the one dA offers for premium members is so easy to use and understand, google didn't go a very good job at that unfortunately
Guys, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE introduce the search function in the 'favourites' section of one's gallery :(
I have like million deviations faved and I really want to dig up a certain artist, whom I KNOW I faved, but can't remember his name and it was original art so there's no way for me to find it in general dA search bar :(
But searching tags and cross-referencing them with MY favourites would probably narrow down my result to a few pages. If I search for the same tags on general dA, it will come out in thousands :(
This feature really WOULD BE helpful to a lot of users, who tend to fav and run, but also want to find something later on. Otherwise, what's the point of favourites, if there's no effective way to  search through them? :( (Atm I have 44k of faves and if I want to find that ONE piece because I need it, how am I supposed to do it? >.<)
Please, comment in if you agree, maybe this feature will be introduce if more people ask for it. Cataloguing fave deviations in folders without the 'search' bar is just not enough...

I'm with you on that one. I have LOADS of favourites and newer ones get lost in the collection after a while. :(

Yes, I agree. I'm usually a bit unenthusiastic about the suggestions that get made but that one would definitely be a huge plus.

Please allow alternatives like Piwik or Statcounter too. =)

I don't ask for critique on dA anymore because usually all I get is "coool" or someone begging me to do a tutorial instead. I would rather have a user say, "This piece looks ugly and here's why I think it is so: -Lighting issue A, depth B, etc..-" than get another "omg this is aewsomez!"

If I want real critique, I go elsewhere.

That new feature for premium members sounds interesting. =)

And I always appreciate critique on my artwork, whether or not I request it. :giggle:
