Change Log

  • A new badge and promoted Journal Skin were added for Neil Gaiman's 'A Calendar of Tales'. Added by ArtBIT
  • The system for the Be My Valentine Art Exchange was implemented. Added by aMoniker
  • Discover (Beta) was removed from the site, due in combination to a general lack of use and its lowered efficiency when compared to More Like This. Removed by kemayo
  • Film deviations that were embedded off-site would not play right away. Fixed by yury-n
  • When using the "Next" and "Previous" buttons to browse, the Favorites menu would stay open, if opened prior to navigating to another deviation. Fixed by shadowhand
  • Preview images for Print products on deviation pages were broken in rare cases. Fixed by shadowhand
  • For a brief period, clicking the "Purchase" button didn't work for some Premium Content downloads. Fixed by aMoniker
  • Dragging a deviation when in a stack would not make the Favorites dropdown appear, if the deviant had their Message Center set to display big thumbs. Fixed by muteor
  • Deleted deviations that were not yet withdrawn from the Message Center would display oddly. Fixed by aMoniker
  • Invalid code could be put into the bio area of one's Portfolio, and that would break the portfolio's display. Fixed by shadowhand
  • Updated deviations were not labeled as such in the Message Center. Fixed by muteor
  • On Prints pages, if the lustre finish was selected by default, the checkbox would appear next to glossy instead. Fixed by shadowhand
  • The "Buy this Print" box would be scrolled off of the deviation page when clicked, as the page switched to the Print's preview image. Fixed by allixsenos

deviantART muro

  • Redraw playback had some cosmetic display problems. Fixed by sgrahamUK
  • Using thumbcodes in Sta.sh comments did not work correctly for deviations that were made in deviantART muro. Fixed by sgrahamUK
  • Several speed improvements were made. Fixed by sgrahamUK and mudimba

Sta.sh / Submit

  • The "suggested categories" option would appear even when there were no suggested categories. Fixed by kouiskas
  • The "Submit Prints" option would appear even when the image wasn't large enough for any Print option. Fixed by drommk
  • When submitting a previously saved submission with Prints originally disabled, the prints settings area would not display. Fixed by drommk
  • Prints preferences would be updated even when an error happened when trying to turn Prints on. Fixed by drommk
  • The "Prints not supported" warning would sometimes appear twice. Fixed by drommk
  • Typing a large description in Firefox could result in the top line of the description going out of view. Fixed by drommk
  • When using quotes in keywords, the keywords wouldn't reload correctly upon editing. Fixed by kouiskas
  • Picking a category would sometimes scroll the page to the top. Fixed by kouiskas
  • A Prints-related error would appear when using remembered settings and editing a deviation type that doesn't support Prints. Fixed by drommk
  • When selecting a category that doesn't allow Prints, the Prints option would still display in IE8. Fixed by drommk

Sta.sh Writer

  • Journals published from the legacy Journal Submit page were only showing up in the "browse" view on deviants' Journal pages. Fixed by kemayo
  • The author of a Group journal couldn't always edit it if they left and re-joined the group. Fixed by Alisey
  • Pasting text into Sta.sh Writer would automatically remove non-breaking spaces. Fixed by Alisey
  • Sta.sh Writer would automatically switch to rich editing mode if a skin was applied. Fixed by Alisey
  • If "Show More" was clicked when viewing emoticons in the sidebar, there was no visual indication that it was loading more results. Fixed by inazar

I had a problem on stash. I was writing my story in stash writer and I was going to post it. When I'd post it, a message popped up saying: file is now being deleted. WHY?! I've lost my whole work, and I have no backup of it! HELP!!!!!

ability to edit pictures in stash.
Rotating pictures because I often forget to do that on my computer and I don't have the bandwidth to reupload.

As an administrator of several groups, there's one thing that bothers me and quite many other people quite a lot(I speak of experience in here).

It would be most useful if the members of the groups could see in their correspondence messages that in what folder they're submitting their deviations into. At the moment they can't thus giving more work to the admins who have to either tell them to withdraw their deviations and to submit into the right folder OR just decline and then explain again and again why their work was declined.

It would really save time. Also people who accidentally submit into the wrong folder wouldn't have to wait for a given time to submit again.

Personally, I think the new submit page is clunky, not user friendly, and the pop up menus are terrible, having the change main file/ add cover image options hidden in a pencil icon is pretty awful, and the only way you can fill out the rest of your info is to upload a piece of art, overall this new process feels slower. The only good thing is the examples and that's it.

In the previous layout you can fill out all your info while the image is uploading, no waiting for the rest of the menu to pop up, much faster, and 100 times more easier.

Hi there! The Help Desk receives a large volume of tickets on any given day, and so it may take some time for them to get to your ticket. That said, they will get to it, so please bear with us in the meanwhile. :)

I just noticed with my latest deviation -> [link]
which is 1280 pixels in width, that it gets resized even if viewed in full view. Instead of 1280 pixels it's only 1263 pixels wide, because of the vertical scroll bar that takes up the rest of the viewport size. The correct behavior, I think, should be to have the photo extend beyond the limits of the viewport and be displayed in 1280 pixels width?

The resizing results in an overall blurry photo at monitors with 1280x1024 resolution. The problem does not occur on resolutions other than 1280 in width, and it is also not present if the page is loaded in a smaller window and then maximized to 1280 pixels - then it does exactly what I would have expected, a horizontal scrollbar appears in full view.

After three months of inactivity from the user, unless they are on a hiatus, you should delete their account. Same to the deactivated accounts.

3 months? I know of some users who made an account like 7 years ago but haven't used it until just 2 years ago. What if some of the users still wanted the name?

Then again, I see where you're getting at. There are a lot of useless account made for no reason and other users want the names.

No accounts are ever deleted, that being a standard for all businesses that have an account database. I sympathize with people who want their names, but that does more harm than good.

When I am trying to submit art on the new submitting page I can not select any categories so I can't submit. I wonder if the people who have paid accounts still work. Seems almost suspicious to me almost as if they are no longer allowing free users to submit anything.

Hey again, do you think dA is going to get shutdown because of this: [link]

I know fanart should be legal right?

Unless you upload popular movies/albums/software that are pirated on dA, I don't see how the site would be affected by that.
