The New Way to Write Journals

Thu Jun 13, 2013, 4:46 PM

Writing a Journal is easier than ever with the new Write a Journal Entry page. Add formatting, artwork, files, Journal Skins, and emoticons to your Journal for a more dynamic journal creation experience!

What's New

  • Rich-text formatting is supported! You can use familiar keyboard shortcuts or Sta.sh Writer's rich-text toolbar for a simple, straightforward experience when formatting your text.
    • For deviants who prefer to use HTML, you can still type your HTML as usual, or you can turn off the rich-text by switching to HTML Mode from the Edit menu!
  • Make your Journal more engaging without having to work harder! Use Sta.sh Writer's sidebar to easily add deviations and files from your Sta.sh into your Journal!
    • Premium Members can also improve their Journal by adding a custom Journal Skin using the Style section of the sidebar.
  • Use the Emoticons tab of the sidebar to explore and add a combination of official and community-created emoticons to your Journal!
  • Save an unfinished draft of your Journal to your Sta.sh or open an unfinished Journal draft from the File menu in the toolbar!
  • Create, customize, and submit your Journal, all from one page, all in one step.

Try it out! Visit the Write a Journal Entry page!

Sorry , I don't like this. It's harder
than the regular way.
Well that's my opinion.

Hi there. :)
I just figured out a question I didn't ever think of on my other two accounts (very stupid of me XD)-how do you add a description to the journal? :?

Hi there! To add a description to a Journal, you have to write it in Sta.sh Writer, and then submit it to deviantART from the regular Submit page. Once you are on the Submit page, you can add or edit the description. Hope that helps! :)

i can't seem to figure this out at all, this overhaul honestly feels to have broken something that was working just fine. There's a saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and now we see why. I have tried everything i can think of to even get something up to type all i get is the annoying stash search bar and tool bar and a grey screen. So i have to thank whoever had the brilliant idea of using a system but not giving a beginner tutorial for it. Thank you so much DeviantArt for destroying the easiest way to alert people of coming changes to your page. If and that's big if, someone actually knows how to use the bloody thing send me a note please or a link to a tutorial. I mean this is about as bad as the google+ youtube comment merger a few months back.

Hi there! Can you take a screenshot of what the page looks like for you and send it to me? It's loading fine for me over here, so I'd like to see what it looks like for you, to see if we can get things running smoothly on your end. :)

I actually managed to figure it out. To all the google chrome users if you have extensions your journal won't load. Turn them off in order to get it working again.
