We've been monitoring performance and feedback since launch of the new deviation page to A/B testing, and we wanted to provide an update in regards to how the new deviation page has been performing, as well as following-up on community feedback and response.

Some valid concerns were raised by the community during this testing period and, moving forward, we'll be thinking through how to best address these concerns. In the meantime, there are a few points in particular that we wanted to share with you:
  • More From This Artist was well received by the community, and performed exceptionally well.
  • Deviants did not like having to scroll to find the Favourite button, and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of Favourites coming from deviants with the new deviation page compared to the amount of Favourites from deviants on the old deviation page.

Moving forward, we'll be keeping the aspects of the test that were successful (such as More From This Artist, More from deviantART, and the associated cleaner sidebar styling), while removing the aspects that need further refinement and replace them with the familiar layout of the previous deviation page.

Please know that this is by no means an endpoint. This is a way to launch the changes that worked well, while allowing time to further think through the areas of the design that were problematic.

Thank you for your help in testing the deviation page. Your continued participation and feedback helps create a better deviantART, and for that we are entirely grateful.
